Many european schools are linked with other schools in Europe.
It is also possible to link your school with a school in Africa.
In one of the West African countries there is an organisation which will help you do this.

This is GOWLA; Gambia One World Linking Association.
GOWLA was set up after contacts with UKOWLA: UK One World Linking Association.
These Non Profit Organisations aim to stimulate contacts between communities
and schools in Europe and developing countries.

The aim of GOWLA is to contribute to a more just, educated, informed, and tolerant global society and thus,
to contribute to world peace and harmony.
It hopes to achieve this by supporting existing communities, schools and group links and encouraging the
formation of new creative links between people in The Gambia and other parts of the world.

In The Netherlands, Roelof van Echten College has a friendship link with the Basic Cycle School in Jambanjelly.
Pupils in the 3rd year now write to each other. There has also been a drawing project between the 2nd year pupils.
Drawings on particular subjects are now hanging in the partner school.
Teachers from the school in Hoogeveen have visited the school in Jambanjelly.
Two Gambian teachers visited Hoogeveen last Autumn.

If you are interested in linking your school with a school in The Gambia, GOWLA will help you.
If your school is in the UK, please contact www.ukowla.org.uk.
If your school is elsewhere in Europe please feel free to send us an email for more information.
